DESCRIPTION (blue font for 8310 model)

The NURIT 8300 product line consists of a family of check reader products with various interface and decoding capabilities. All versions utilize a magnetic MICR read head and include a host system interface port. Versions of the product are available which support the direct connection to POS terminal I/O Ports, inte-grated bar coded document reading, numerous keyboard wedge interfaces, hand-held scanner decoding, inte-grated magnetic stripe reader, and auxiliary RS-232 I/O ports. All 8300 products contain FLASH memory which allows for easy firmware upgrades in the field without the need to disassemble the product. The 8300 products provide multiple options in meeting the data capture needs of retail and financial transaction systems. The 8300 may be ordered with options which provide an integrated triple track mag stripe reader, a bar code scanner port, and two RS-232 ports for future peripherals such as PIN Pads or a Signature Capture Pad. The 8300 is compatible with hundreds of POS and teller systems through the built in interface/ wedge controller. The 8300 typically operates from +5 volt or +12 volt power from the host device and does not require external power pack or connector blocks.

The NURIT 8310 is a reduced feature set member of the NURIT 8300 family of check reader products. All 8300 products contain FLASH memory which allows for easy firmware upgrades in the field without the need to disassemble the product, and a magnetic read head for MICR data capture. The NURIT 8310 contains communications support for traditional PC COM ports for PC-POS applications, many PC and video terminal keyboards in a keyboard wedge mode.

  • Compatibility with hundreds of PC, POS, and teller systems through keyboard wedge interface
  • Motorized paper transport for quick, easy check handling, and a high first pass good read rate
  • Attachment of the optional integrated MSR allows for Track 1, 2, and 3 data capture with output data formatting capability within the compact 8300 enclosure
  • Easy and fast firmware modifications
  • Allows for field upgrade of 8300 program memory without a chip change for future enhancements
  • Supports host down line load of program memory and parameters
  • The one standard, and second optional RS-232 ports allow for additional peripherals such as PIN Pad and Signature Capture Pad
  • Operates from either a regu-lated +5VDC power source, or a regulated or unregulated +7 to +13 VDC power source. For many installations, an external power pack is not required
  • The optional bar code scanner port provides high performance bar code decoding feature in the same compact 8300 enclosure
  • The 8300 can read docu-ments encoded with either E-13B or CMC-7 fonts. This feature is useful for installations near international borders where financial documents may be encoded in either font.
  • Fits neatly into all transaction installations.
  • The 8310 can communicate to a host device using bar code wand emulation, or via serial RS-232.
  • Compatible with hundreds of different POS systems through keyboard wedge interface. o Motorized paper transport for quick, easy check handling, and a high first pass good read rate.
  • Easy and fast firmware modifica-tions. o Allows field program memory upgrades for future enhancements without a "chip change."
  • Fully programmable output data editing capability - not restricted to a limited dip-switch based selec-tion.
  • Supports host download of all parameter and MICR exception table data.
  • Unique parsing instructions for non-standard MICR line data is stored in FLASH memory exception table.
  • MICR exception table may be field updated using MICR programming checks or serial RS-232 download.
  • The 8310 will operate from either a regulated +5VDC power source, or a regulated or unregulated +7 to +13 VDC power source. For most keyboard wedge installations, an external power pack is not required.
  • The 8310 can read documents encoded with either E-13B or CMC-7 fonts. This feature is useful for installations near international borders where financial documents may be encoded in either font.
