Lipman’s Newest Wireless Handheld is Now Supported by the Nation’s Largest Wireless Data Network

 

RESTON, VA – April 26, 2001 – Motient Corporation (NASDAQ: MTNT), a network leader in the wireless point-of-sale (POS) industry, has recently added a new wireless POS device from Lipman Electronic Engineering Ltd. – the Nurit 3010 – to its nationwide digital wireless data network. The Nurit 3010 is a complete handheld solution for wirelessly authorizing credit card transactions.

The MotientTM network is the first and largest two-way wireless data network in the country. Flexible protocols allow the network to wirelessly enable a variety of devices for a number of different business segments, including the wireless point-of-sale industry. The Motient network also provides some of the most secure wireless data transmissions available today.

Lipman has been developing advanced wireless and tel-line point-of-sale devices since 1974. The Nurit 3010 is Lipman’s third generation wireless POS offering. This handheld device is a complete and self-contained unit for wirelessly authorizing credit cards, debit cards, check verification, and other value-added card applications. It has a large back-lit display, thermal printer, 20 key keypad, and built-in PIN pad, among many other features.
