LIPMAN AND APRIVA JOIN FORCES TO OFFER END-TO-END WIRELESS POS SOLUTION NuritGate: Powered by APRIVA, Sets the Standard forWireless Transaction Processing SYOSSET, NY – March 18, 2002 – APRIVA, Inc., a wireless solution provider, and Lipman, a global leader in wired and wireless POS terminal solutions, have agreed to work together to offer a full end-to-end wireless point of sale solution for ISO’s, processors and merchants. The agreement combines Lipman’s Nurit 3010 and newly released Nurit 8000 POS devices with APRIVA Talk – a gateway model giving wireless flexibility to merchants, credit card processors and ISO’s – to form Lipman’s new gateway solution: NuritGate: Powered by APRIVA. This agreement provides Lipman the opportunity to offer their own private-labeled gateway and control the transaction development and transmission as a complete end-to-end solution for their current and future customers. With this new agreement, Lipman’s 3010 and 8000 devices are now able to process transactions through NuritGate on either the Cingular or Motient networks, and can connect to many of the largest US authorization and settlement processors. Additional processors will be connected rapidly due to the symbiotic development environment created by the two companies. Credit card transactions on the Nurit 3010 or 8000 terminals can now be processed in real-time from virtually anywhere in the United States using a powerful and robust gateway provided by APRIVA. NuritGate will provide a fast, reliable and secure wireless bridge between the Lipman devices and the back-end processors and web interface. APRIVA has built a number of value-added services to benefit the merchant, card acquirer and transaction processor, including online reporting, order processing, terminal provisioning and customer management, all in real-time and all of which will be available with NuritGate. APRIVA ensures transaction delivery and security with a full production level Data Center, hosted by AT&T in Mesa, Arizona. APRIVA also currently provides connectivity to dial-up networks, and plans to provide connectivity to next generation wireless networks as well as CDPD. “We are extremely impressed with the technology that APRIVA is able to provide in the point of sale industry. NuritGate will offer our merchants a faster and more reliable way of processing credit card transactions and managing their businesses,” said Mony Zenou, President and CEO of Lipman USA. Zenou went on to say, “What the industry needs at this stage of the pre- explosion of wireless terminal deployment is a solution that can provide and resolve all issues associated with wireless transactions through a single point of contact. The partnership between APRIVA and Lipman provides that solution.” “Obviously, Lipman is the largest and most well-respected wireless point of sale terminal manufacturer in North America,” said Kevin Hickey, President and CEO of APRIVA, “We are excited to be working with Lipman and combining both companies’ experience and value-added services to provide merchants with the best and most innovative technology in this new wireless point of sale solution.” NuritGate will be available for demonstration by Lipman and APRIVA at the Electronic Transactions Association 2002 Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando, FL on April 10-12.
