From card association mandates like PCI PED and EMV, to government regulatory guidelines like HIPAA, VeriFone solutions help simplify compliance so you can stay focused on running your business. We have the industry relationships to understand the implications that changes have for payment systems. We design solutions that offer clear migration paths to help our customers keep up with change with minimal effort and cost.

Examples of VeriFone’s leadership approach to security and mandates:

• VeriFone’s Vx 670, Vx 570 and MX870 received PCI PED Approval from Visa and MasterCard.
• VeriFone was the first vendor to release a complete line of Visa PED approved products prior to the January 2004 mandate to do so. 
• We offer system solutions and peripherals that support EMV standards, as well as Triple DES and PED.
• Our PC and Enterprise payment software solutions were the first of their kind to be validated under Visa's new Payment Application Best Practices security audit, well ahead of the mandate do so.
• VeriFone's PCCharge software was one of the first applications to be validated against Visa's Payment Application Best Practices (PABP), which is part of Visa's Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) mandate. Mandated since June 2001, the CISP is intended to protect Visa cardholder data.
• VeriFone PCCharge products are the only payment processing software products on the market that have been certified by Microsoft to work with MS Windows.

PCI
The major credit card associations have worked together to create the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, often referred to as PCI — a common set of industry tools and measurements to ensure safe handling of sensitive information and improve cardholder confidence.   VeriFone solutions have lead the industry in conformance to these new standards. 

VeriFone subjects ALL of its new products to the rigorous security certification by Visa/Mastercard PCI approved laboratories, which is only REQUIRED for devices that accept PINs for online debit cards  (PIN pads).    Applying these standards to devices in use for standard credit cards ensures that every merchant who deploys a VeriFone solution can take advantage of VeriFone's advanced tamper evidence, detection and response security mechanisms in protecting the privacy of their patrons.

In addition, VeriFone’s SSL Libraries & Wi-Fi Security Solutions offer secure content delivery management solutions to ensure secure transaction data transmission via SSL, WEP, and eventually WPA. 

VeriFone also has implemented bold initiatives to increase the level of security in the absence of industry mandates.

McAfee VirusScan© Mobile for Verix
VeriFone recently announced an agreement with McAfee, Inc., to market its VirusScan© solution to further protect merchant and consumer privacy on our Internet connected solutions. VeriFone’s collaboration with McAfee delivers secure content and threat management solutions with McAfee VirusScan Mobile for Verix, providing antivirus, content filtering, and secure messaging for POS device.

Biometrics
We invest in promising new technologies and services in our effort to help you stay ahead of criminal elements.  We have active investment and participation in fingerprint biometric identification pilots with the leading vendors.  We also require any vendors that would like to leverage our consumer-facing infrastructure for these trials to meet our stringent security requirements and undergo a certification with us.
