The PC 2000 is programmed and supported as regular Nurit 2080. The software recognizes the PC’s modem and sets peripherals, such as a card reader and printer (24, 40 or 80 characters per line) through a simple window or better still, through a simple load the Nurit Terminal Control Center (TCC). Future development will permit use of a PC terminal as a concentrator for multiple terminals connected through a network.

CALLING ALL CARDS

Total POS Enticed By Nurit 2080

Lipman USA’s commitment to providing flexibility in its nurit terminals has enabled its launch amongst the industry’s elite to be a reality rather than an innocent naïve pipe dream. Contrary to popular belief, ‘bigger isn’t necessarily better’. The insistence that Goliath will always slay David might have been proven accurate in times past, but we have persevered in an age consumed by computers in an electronic stage. The scenario has been a symbol to recent leap by Lipman USA into the terminal world, focusing on technological advances rather than centering on a numbers game in a motionless society.

Considered an innovator in the terminal marketplace, Lipman USA’s feature-rich devices enticed Dallas-based Total Point of Sale (POS) Phone Card Program to believe in the product line

"I was immediately interested in Lipman’s ‘advancements‘, which not only pertained to our present production, but most importantly our futuristic intentions," Total P.O.S. President Claude Ricks stated. "I used to be totally involved with the Verifone terminals, but the Nurits became a ‘flexible’ alternative for us. It has given us the opportunity to train our merchants at a faster rate, and an ability to be extremely descriptive, when presenting our product line."

Ricks’ interest in the Nurits has translated into a Total P.O.S. program, which commenced in early October. The plan allows merchants the opportunity to generate its own revenue by selling pre-paid phone cards rather than paying initial overhead for out-of state and overseas valued cards.

"This Phone Card charges no money up front compared to the traditional pre-paid phone cards purchased at local 7-11’s or corner candy stores, which would cost a merchant approximately 75% of the total card’s value," Ricks said. "Total P.O.S. allows merchants a 7-13 day float billing period, enabling the owner to oversee any wrongdoings from occurring, by punching up the Lip-Nurit Terminals Report Key, indicating continuous daily transactions."

The cashier simply slides a blank phone card through the Nurit Terminal, key in the dollar amount requested. Then, seconds later an approval message will appear on the terminal screen, and subsequently, the card is ready to be used.

Unlike other pre-paid phone cards, the Total P.O.S. cards are worthless until it is activated, preventing any shoplifiting risk, which would normally be a prevalent concern.

Whether the merchant requests a credit card, debit card, EBT or Phone Card Activation purchase, there will be no need for new equipment. The Nurit 2080 Terminal, in itself, has proven to be worth its weight in gold, enabling numerous purchases to be approved, while following a simple step-by step process.

"Lipman U.S.A.’s strength as I have learned is its ability to change with the times," Ricks said. "They are so confident in their product line, that I knew I needed to pay close attention. They truly provide for their customers, an actvity so overlooked nowadays." Total P.O.S. has forged alliances with Lipman U.S.A. to make "Prepaid Phone Cards Made Easy To Manage."

On the Horizon

Lipman U.S.A. has prided itself on the ability to provide feature-rich quality terminals to its I.S.O.’s. The capabilities that we have at Lipman are endless and our accomplishments have allowed us to rise among the manufacturings’ elite. Our simple step-by-step application procedures have been met with the positive feedback that we initially anticipated. But we understand that times are changing, and we are glad to evolve with it. So we at Lipman are proud to present the new Nurit POS 2000 The Nurit POS 2000 is unlike any software around. We, at Lipman, have decided to emulate our terminals’ applications and protocols onto the rising power of personal computers. This new transformation was in the process for years, and our ability to imitate an innovative terminal, such as the Nurit 2080 can only heighten our stance amidst the upper echelon of terminal manufacturers. Lipman U.S.A. has always been able to cater to our I.S.O.’s needs, based on our department engineers’ ability to write simplistic applications expeditiously. "The Nurit POS 2000 will allow our I.S.O.’s to follow the same application used for our terminals," Mony Zenou, President of Lipman U.S.A. stated. "Based on the feedback that I have received from our Individual Sales Organizations (I.S.O.’s), that simple step-by-step process quickly peaked the merchants interest." Lipman U.S.A. understands that the use of an actual, physical terminal would be counterproductive for a home business where processes are conducted off a personal computer, thus the Nurit POS 2000 would be a highly effective transactional tool. "We try to keep our applications as simple as possible," Irina Kaliniouk, Lipman’s Engineering department head said. " With the new development of the Nurit POS 2000 being 100% compatible to our terminal, there is no need for additional training to our I.S.O.’s Therefore the merchants remain familiar with our formulas. Similar to our Nurit 2080 Terminal, which the Nurit POS 2000 emulates, the software will enable the merchant to compile a multitude of proceedings, endowing the usage of cash, all major credit cards, debit cards, card authorization, point of sale phone card activation, electronic benefit transfer, eligibility verification and "easy pay." Lipman U.S.A. has always believed that education is a necessity in presenting a new product line, and the Nurit POS 2000 definitely has its quirks. But maintaining the simple menu/esc. mode, in which the Nurit terminals patterns its whole service around, the learning process remains, and will always be, user friendly. The Nurit POS 2000 also features a unique help file, which will be used to set up the operating systems, for those unfamiliar with our Nurit Terminals, an attraction in which Lipman U.S.A. can always count on presenting to our customers.

Lipman Heads West

Lipman U.S.A. arrived onto American soil nearly six years ago with a mission in hand. The goal was to educate Independent Sales Organizations on the difference between new wave and reprocessing. Considering the fact that Lipman U.S.A. was entering foreign territory, their address was heard loud and clear, to the point that Lipman U.S.A. anointed two sales representatives to the Midwestern and southeastern regions of the United States this past fall, and by the first half of 1998 will promote one of its homegrown to be Lipman U.S.A.’s new Western Sales Representative. Kathleen Carey, head of administration in our Long Island, N.Y. office arrived onto the Lipman scene in December, 1994, as a customer service representative, and her rise in the company is a result of her hard work and determined persona. Lipman U.S.A. understands that it is difficult to service the West from across the country, and we are confident in Ms. Carey's abilities to inform ISO's on the emergence of our company. Kathleen’s knowledge of the Nurit products surely makes her a viable representative for the entire Lipman U.S.A. staff. Lipman U.S.A. understands that the only way to present a product, such as the Nurit terminals is by providing demonstrations. We are proud of our user-friendly devices and feature-rich qualities. "I grew up with the terminals and consider it a major part of my life," Carey said. "The simple applications developed by our engineering staff have enabled ISO's to follow a step by step process." Kathleen has recently set up offices in Calabasas, California and can be reached at (818) 876-0511. Ms. Carey will help explain our product line, from the initial Nurit 2050 Register to the newest Nurit 2080 Terminal with phone card activation potential. We at Lipman are assured by Ms. Carey’s wisdom of the Nurit Terminals, and are expecting ISO’s to be pleased in our advances into the future of terminal her a viable representative for the entire Lipman U.S.A. staff.
